January 2020 - Letter to my Constituents

Friends,

I'm filled with gratitude and humility as I begin the work of representing the people and communities of the 40th district. On January 6th, I was appointed to serve through 2020 in the Washington State House of Representatives position vacated by former Rep. Jeff Morris. I have accepted this responsibility and remain committed to the core values that have kept me engaged in politics and public policy for two decades: building healthy and inclusive community, planning for the future our children deserve, and working together for a more just and inclusive Washington State.

While focused entirely on the state legislative session until March 13th, I am working for our constituents to take on the biggest challenges and priorities for the success of our communities: addressing our housing affordability crisis, protecting our ferry service, securing robust funding for public education and transportation infrastructure, and turning the tide on climate change.

In Olympia I'm making the most of the opportunity to build relationships with other leaders from around the state, and am committed to ensuring coordination with 40th LD Senator Liz Lovelett and Representative Debra Lekanoff. We can serve our communities best by working together, and I'm proud to call both of them friends.

I intend to run for election in 2020 and would be honored to have your support.
